What’s The Best Natural Acne Face Wash?

Before Buying A Natural Acne Face Wash, READ THIS FIRST!

Would you agree it’s very hard these days to find the best natural acne face wash (or best natural acne products for that matter) given the options out there?

Well brace yourself because before I show you the very best natural products I found…

I’m going to show you a really shocking thing a lot of drug companies do to unsuspecting folks like you and me.

It’s very important you know this because it’ll equip you with the right knowledge to know what you’re buying going forward.

Okay, ready?

If you’ve regularly brought acne face washes before, then you’ve likely seen ingredients like this:

  • Sodium sulfonate
  • Cocamidopropyl Betaine
  • Linoleamidopropyl pg-dimonium chloride phosphate
  • Polysorbate 20Best Natural Acne Face Wash Bottle Picture

These are the first few ingredients of Neutrogena’s popular face wash which is marketed as an effective acne treatment for teens and young adults.

You will find these ingredients or a combination of them in just about any acne face cleansers out there.

They seem fairly “regular” enough in terms of confusing chemical names typical on personal care products, wouldn’t you say?

You could even argue these ingredients look downright scary and I wouldn’t disagree with you.

We just trust companies that they wouldn’t do us any harm right?

Yes, while these compounds may be originally derived from plants, I assure you their current form when used is far, far away in terms of their impact on you had you just used the original plant.

Coconut oil, safflower oil, berries and the list goes on.

I mean, how much more natural can you get?

Not so fast…

Let’s take one example from the above: Cocamidopropyl Betaine.

Marketing companies will promote it as “derived from coconuts” or “coconut based” making you think it’s coming from a glorious palm tree swaying with the island breeze under a lovelit sun.

Yeah right.

According to EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetics Database “it has been associated with irritation and allergic contact dermatitis” and classified as a semi hazardous compound.

Wait, what?

What Really Goes On

Lie and Truth Road Sign

Don’t be fooled – these are not homemade, organic face wash grade products.

What happens is they mix these isolated plant derivatives with a whole host of other solutions from their labs – many of them pure synthetic chemicals to give them the selling appeal like color, smell, etc.

Did you catch what just happened?

They took what’s readily available to everyone (from plants) by isolating the compounds, called them by unrecognizable names, mixed them with their toxic potions and sell them to you!

See, in order to get you to buy their products to put on the outside of your skin, they need you to be completely unaware of the fact that it would be far more effective for you if you just eat these kinds of plants and absorbed all of their awesome benefits.

That way, you would be taking care of your acne problem from where it should always be tackled from – the inside.

They rely on the ignorance of the masses though which is why they continue selling their concoctions with as many “natural” labels on them all day long.

Don’t think for a second the researchers responsible for formulating these products don’t know just how powerful and effective plants are.

These base ingredients were not selected by accident.

The problem for these companies though is they can’t patent the plants they extract these compounds from like dandelion, blackberries or coconuts.

Since they can’t patent nature, they isolate what they think is the most effective portion of it, mix it with their own creations and voila!

Unfortunately, they often overstep their limits and are unaware of the long term effects these hybrid mixtures have on people.

The “side effects” of these man made inventions are sometimes not known for decades – like the crime that happened against millions of people for over 40 years because of Accutane.

So What Is The Best Natural Acne Face Wash?

Given all the pitfalls of trying to find a truly natural cleanser, I did the hard work for you.

I sorted through dozens of self proclaimed “natural” products and checked out each and every ingredient listed.

Some contained over 30 ingredients!

Anyway, if it was truly natural, it passed and if it contained just one component that was harmful, it was eliminated.

It took hours and I was finally left with three that I can confidently say are completely natural and very effective.

They contain absolutely no toxic ingredients with excellent reviews all round.

Once you’re well into a wholesome detox protocol, you won’t get any more organic skincare for acne prone skin than these three:

Homemade Face Cleanser Option

If you just can’t bring yourself to buy anything unless you see it being made, then your best option is for this old fashioned homemade wash.

For this, you need:

Honey and Lemon Face Cleanser

Lemon and honey together work as both cleanser and moisturizer respectively.

The enzymes in the lemon help clear old, dead skin cells giving you that fresh, rejuvenated feeling.

A natural antiseptic, lemon also fights acne aggravating microbes.

Honey is a nourishing, enriching food that has a potent medicinal and antibacterial property.

The exceptional thing about raw honey is it is equally effective on the outside of the body as it is on the inside. It’s loaded with antioxidants which also helps fight the aging process.

All you need to do is combine the lemon with honey and warm it between your fingers, then apply evenly over your face and rinse. If you need to unstick it, use some water to “ungoo” it.

You will be quite surprised how effective it is at cleaning your face while being gentle on your skin.

Nature Knows What It’s Doing

Look guys, nature is perfect.

Plants grow with the exact right amount of minerals, vitamins and nutrients to sustain and heal life around them.

When you try to improve what’s already perfect, you end up messing with it’s balance and often with devastating consequences.

It’s truly tragic we’re in a time where we’ve been conditioned to fearing the pure and natural and blindly accepting the artificial and harmful.

When you put pure, natural things on or in your body, your body knows exactly what to do to best make use of them.

If you put foreign synthetic chemicals, your body tries to get rid of them and very often, it occurs through the skin.  So what ends up happening is, the very products you bought to rid yourself of one condition end up being the cause for another.

Here’s the thing though:

It doesn’t really matter how chemically infused or pure a face cleanser is if you’re toxic inside.

You can keep zapping those pimples on the surface but they’ll keep coming back again and again because the source of their material – the swelling, the pus, the inflammation is all happening inside you.

Make sense?

So once you’re cleaned up inside, then wholesome, natural products are absolutely beneficial and I would strongly recommend you use them.

Things like pure mud masks are great in drawing out surface impurities.

Manuka honey and other natural products can do wonders for nourishing and healing the skin from the outside.

You can use them at any time of course but just understand as long as you’re internal environment isn’t clean, then the source of your acne will still be there.

The very best thing you can do for your skin is enrich it with the purest forms of nutrition so it cleanses from within and radiates outwards.

That way, acne has very little chance to appear and if it does, literally zero chance from hanging around since its primary source is constantly being moved out of the body.

Sounds like a much more efficient way to fix a problem doesn’t it?

Final Thoughts

What if I told you that you can soon be completely acne free so you won’t even need a face wash?

This is not only completely possible but very likely to happen if you take charge of your own health! All you need to do is follow the numerous protocols outlined on this site and acne will be a thing of the past. Until then, it’s extremely important to know what goes into your acne face wash.

As you can see if you’re not careful you may end up buying something that does more harm than good to you over the long-term.

Be on the safe side and do what nature intended.

Keep your eye out for any claims of being able to cure your acne in 3 or 10 days or similar claims.

Run if you see anything like this.

Firstly, nothing you can put on your skin externally can cure your acne for good since that’s not where the problem is. Secondly, there is absolutely no way of knowing the current health condition of everyone.

Some of us have healthy lymph systems that are efficiently carrying cellular waste away while others have really backed up systems that are as a result of decades of neglect.

To claim one can cure acne in a certain number of days is simply absurd.

Finally, be assured you can never go wrong if you stick with nature.

If you’re going to get an acne face wash to help you transition while you clean your body up inside, then go for the purest products possible because remember, everything you put on your skin gets absorbed by your body.

Hope this helped you sort out fact from fiction.

  1. Hi, i love reading your content, its very enlightening to me and explains the true cause of skin disease. However… Doing this method of cleaning the Lymph/Kidneys/everything will diminish any indented scars and large pores on the face (mainly the cheeks) right? I really don’t have the time and money to go buy all these laser treatment/DermaPen B.S.

  2. I bought this for my father a few weeks ago and it’s been a decent face wash for him. Even as an older man he has issues with acne and he has been looking for something for some time now to help with it. So I saw this and decided to order it. While the smell is not my favorite, it does the job and my dad’s acne has cleared up some.
    Appreciate it!

  3. Hello Sammer
Thanks for sharing your post on facial washes.Like most people I suffered from acne and have some unsightly acne scars from way back.
I have tried chemical peels but was not happy with the results and felt they might not be safe, recently someone suggested I should try Microdermabrasion but since I do not have the money to buy home microdermabrasion machines, I was looking for other alternatives and that`s how I got to your site.
Now you mention home made facial cleansers, although I do not want harsh products on my face, I do worry that home made facials are way too mild to produce any noticeable results.
Having said that, I might be tempted to give the natural organic facial wash from Christina Moss a try, the price is reasonable but you did not write the ingredients.
Very informative, will give it a try and see how well it works.
Do you mind If I come back later and let you know my findings?

    1. Roamy, sure that would be great.

I’ll share the ingredients here soon but they are on the product page should anyone decide to check it out. Thanks for the tip!

Microdermabrasion is risky and only targets the symptom by removing tiny amounts of skin from the surface. Some people have complained of swelling and redness afterwards but again, it’s not going to solve the problem of acne by fixing the root cause.

It’s better to be milder on your face than harsh. Remember, acne must first be attacked from the inside. This is the source of the inflammation and swelling that leads to visible acne. If the supply to this pain is cut, then you don’t need overly harsh treatments on your skin at all.

      The two work in harmony.

      Thanks for dropping by!

  4. My daughter had an acne outbreak a couple of months ago. Tried the acne face wash but without much success. When it got worse, I managed to get hold some home remedies from “Professor Google”.
Mix turmeric with olive oil (paste form) and applied onto the affected area. It worked like a miracle. The acne redness and swelling gradually subsided after a few treatment. Using natural ingredients from home is the best way!

    1. Sharon,

      That’s an excellent suggestion!

Like I said – natural way is really the only truly safe and effective way. We expect quick miracles these days but don’t realise natural options are just as quick sometimes but a lot safer.

  5. I have bought so many different types of acne face wash that I have lost count. None of them really work, so I figured that acne is mostly an internal affliction rather than something that can be washed away. I always read the labels now and stay away from harsh chemicals. I agree using natural remedies are sometimes better. Thanks for sharing this!

  6. I suffered from acne for years – strange thing was the onset was in my twenties. Like you said, I had a lot of toxicity to get rid of. Plus I had food intolerances that aggravated it.

Now that I’ve cleaned up my body my skin looks better than ever.

What is your favorite way to cleanse your face? I got into the oil cleansing method a few years ago and have never looked back. Now I know exactly what goes on my skin and it’s much less expensive. 🙂

    1. Congratulations Shannon, very glad to hear that. Amazing what happens to your skin once the body inside gets cleaned out eh? I just use a gentle, natural, chemical-free soap sparingly, mud masks and water. Keeps it fresh, clean and radiant.

  7. Hi Sammer,

I really loved this article! One of my big new years resolutions this year is to really become healthy, and treat my body like a temple instead of a garbage dump for the first time in my life, and I’m hoping that part of that is going to be eating good, nutritious food and trying to cut out lots of those nasty chemicals that we find in cheaper beauty products, be they hair products, toothpaste, aluminum containing products, and all the like.

I really enjoyed reading this, and it’s packed with some really interesting information. It’s also lovely to see people who are getting to the heart of what’s important, nutrition. I know all of a sudden my skin started developing acne for the first time when I was about 22, now whenever I’m treating my body poorly – which is sadly almost all the time – I break out badly.

Thanks again and all the best!

    1. Thanks katia, you’ve got the right spirit – treat your body right, and it will trat you right. Thank you for stopping by and you’re most welcome anytime. Keep spreading the healing!

  8. Whoa, the stuff in Acne facewash is incredible, it sounds scary! This is so interesting and I like your statement about how you can’t do anything if you are toxic within,

I have started getting spots and I was looking for a cleanser, but having read your article, I think it’s down to me. I have never really had spots but recently I have been neglecting my diet, so I think that’s what it is. It makes complete sense now! Thank you!

  9. This is so fascinating! For a start I had no idea what any of them ingredients were, I would never have guessed they were all plant based! It makes sense what you’re saying, to tackle the problem from the inside rather than the outside! So basically we would be better off just eating the berries and coconuts!

Great article and I love how you explained this.

    1. Thanks Hannah, yes it makes a lot more sense to just go to the source of these ingredients and eat them than put them on our skin while they are diluted and mixed with all sorts of man made dyes, chemicals and fragrances. Glad you found it helpful.

  10. Labas!

I learned something new today! Had no idea about the ingredients face washes contain…though never was a fan of them anyway. Once again – nature rules! 🙂

Another great article Sammer! Keep it up! 🙂

    1. Labas Inga!

Thanks for stopping by and I’m happy the site could be of value to you. Yes, nature rules. Always has, always will.

  11. Hi,

I have never had a acne problem, however my teenage daughter is just coming up to her hormone stage and has started to develop few spots on her forehead.

Would what your talking about suit children in teenage years as i know my daughter is becoming realy concious.

oh and if you know of anything that will stop the tantrums as well be much appreciated

    1. Steven, make sure she’s not consuming any aspartame which is found in diet sodas, youghurts, gum, etc as it has been linked in several studies with behavioural problems as well as cancers, particularly in the brain as well as seizures.

With regards to her developing acne, yes this works for anyone. If she consumes dairy, nothing will aggravate acne worse than dairy. Get her off all dairy ASAP and substitute with almond milk, coconut milk and the alternatives are extensive. Most grocery stores now have an entire section for these including ice cream, (which is unbeleivably delicious).

Get her to eat as many water rich fruits like grapes and watermelon as well as greens. Plenty of water as well as sweating via exercise, sauna or steam.

      Best of luck.

  12. Hi, Sammer!
I appreciate your effort of helping us with your knowledge to look better! I know how sad someone is if his/her skin suffers… Losing confidence is the first step, then looking for miraculous cures the second, and so on!
You’re doing a great job with this website, keep going!

  13. Nice article right there!!! very informative post on acne face wash. I truly agree that the only option is to go natural- with the masks and all.
But since the problem is internal, the best way would be to address the real causes, and not treat the symptoms, as it would not fully end the acne.
